Piotr Jaskóła
(That is, the one who insisted on establishing a vineyard on this very mountain)
A graduate of the Forestry Department of the Agricultural Academy in Cracow. Ecologist combining enormous knowledge with exceptional intuition that allows him to implement even the craziest ideas. Such as the establishment of a vineyard in the center of the Silesian agglomeration. What seemed absurd resulted in numerous medals for the wines created there and winning the award for the best regional product at the POLAGRA fair in 2012.
He has completed many training courses on wine, and was one of the first participants in the Master in the Wine Profession course organized in 2009.
He was the first in the country, after a long battle with the local administration, to obtain the right to excise and sell his own wine as a farmer.
One of the initiators of changes in the wine law. Founder of the Silesian Winemakers Association and its long-time president.
It was he who discovered the unique habitat of the Wieliczka Vineyard and insisted on establishing cultivation there without the use of chemical pesticides. He is convinced that wine is made in the vineyard and the condition of the vines and the quality of the fruit determine its quality. He takes care of their well-being not only by necessary agrotechnical treatments. Sometimes he talks to the vines at four in the morning or they listen to Bach together.
